The Jigawa State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the forthcoming 2023 elections, Alhaji Mustapha Sule Lamido has declared that, when elected, he will be a governor for all the people of the state regardless of political, religious or any other affiliation.
According to a statement by the Deputy Director, Media/Publicity,Santuraki Campaign Directorate, (SCD). Umar Kyari Jitau Madamuwa, he made the promise at the Jigawa North East zonal really held by the party in Birniwa On December 14th, 2022.
The statement further informed that, Dr Lamido Jnr, renewed his earlier pledge to the people of Jigawa state that, when elected he will be the Governor of the people of Hadejia, Kazaure, Gumel, Ringim and Dutse Emirates and the entire citizens of Jigawa state.
He therefore vowed to unify the state adding that,no meaningful development can be achieved without unity among the citizens of the state.
The statement added, “Ordinarily, the event which was supposed to be a gathering of hundreds of supporters from the host local government and its neighbouring sisters turned to be a Mass Rally where voters from across the converged to make a political statement of their desire to get APC ejected from the Government House in Dutse come 2023.
“The rally from observation, metamorphosed from a zonal rally to the level of a passing of vote of confidence on the party’s Gubernatorial Candidate, Dr Mustapha Sule Lamido and his vision statement which he has earlier rolled out during the flagging off of the electioneering campaign ceremony in the state capital a week before.
“The Birniwa zonal rally can also be equated to a “DECLARATION STATEMENT” by the Jigawa state citizens during which they swore to “CHANGE THE CHANGE WITH A POSITIVE CHANGE” similar with to the one they experienced under Dr Sule Lamido administration”.
According to the statement, the PDP governorship candidate, Dr Mustapha Sule Lamido attended the rally alongside other prominent party chieftains and candidates.
Prominent among them were; the Deputy Governorship candidate, Dr Babandi Ibrahim Gumel, the PDP North East Senatorial candidate, Dr Nuruddeen Muhammed, and former Governor Dr Ibrahim Saminu Turaki who is now the PDP Senatorial candidate for Jigawa North West Senatorial District.
The statement added, “When finally this team mounted and got on top of the podium, the onerous chants of, “Sai Dan Gado, “Sai Dan Gado, “Sai Matashi na Matasa”, “Sai Sabon Gwamna”, referring to their Governor in the waiting, Dr Mustapha Lamido Jnr. filled the air uncontrollably”.
The PDP governorship candidate, later spent the night in Birniwa after the rally, which was a political point scored by Lamido jnr, as it was the first in its political history.
