Igbos in Diaspora mull Diaspora City Project in Nigeria to support Tinubu’s foreign direct investment policy

The Igbos Diaspora Congress (IDC) are mulling plans to establish it’s Diaspora City Project in Nigeria, to support the foreign direct investment effort of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.
Convener of the Igbos in Diaspora Congress, Mr. Emeka Obielom disclosed this to our Correspondent in Uyo via electronic mail on Wednesday.
He said, the group is calling on Nigerians of Igbo extraction in Europe, Africa and the rest of the world to join the move, even as they are ready to present “Business Development Blueprint” to Governors of the South Eastern region.
According to Mr. Obielom, “I’m reaching out to our people across Europe, Africa and every part of the world to support our country.
“Our desire is to kick start the Diaspora City in Nigeria Project; One-stop business haven for investors, importers and exporters and business oriented people across the world.
“Our story must change for the better and I am ready to drive the needed change my people desire.
“God has blessed the Igbos and our people are enterprising, hardworking and committed in life.
“So, this must manifest in the lives of the people of the region. I’m working round the globe with our partners to establish the first Diaspora City; a business hub that will serve as connecting point for training of young business entrepreneurs in Anambra State.
“I am happy with Governor Charles Soludo’s policies on industrialization and human capital development which encourages such thinking.”
Obiolem also said, as part of effort heralding the dream, a Diaspora International Conference is coming up soon in Akwa, Anambra state.
While commending the governors of the region for their development strides, appealed to Igbos at home and in the Diaspora, to support the administration of President Bola Tinubu for the actualisation of his renewed hope agenda for the country.
“Today, we are proud of what our governors are doing in Igbo land, and to complement this effort, we have concluded plans to present our business development blueprints to all the governors in the Eastern Region.
“Plans are also on the way for hosting of a maiden edition of the International Conference on Business Development in Awka.
“Our team is working with different governments in the South East, and beyond to create a business projects that would empower the people. The time has come for Igbos in Diaspora to return home and invest to create more jobs and employment for the youth population in the South East region.
The International business mogul, appealed to Igbos across the world to live in peace and assist one another for the overall interest of the people of the region.
“I also want to appeal to Igbos everywhere in the world to live in peace and be their brother’s keeper. Also, I equally commended the governors for uniting the people. Once again, I thank President Bola Tinubu for the appointment of Bianca Ojukwu and other Igbos into the different public offices in his government”, Mr. Obiolem stated.
