Governor Samuel Ortom has alleged his Bauchi State counterpart, Bala Mohammed of possibly supporting the herdsmen unleashing mayhem on Nigeria.
Ortom stated this while addressing newsmen in Makurdi earlier today. He revealed some bandits, he preferably addressed as “herdsmen” had just written him a letter threatening him with assassination. Ortom further said;
“if anything happens to me, nobody should be in doubt, Governor Bala Mohammed should be held responsible”.
This is coming on the hinge of the Benue Governor’s feeling that Governor Bala Mohammed’s inflammatory statement shows him as being supportive of the killings occuring. Ortom describes this as condemnable.
And he however demands the Bauchi Governor to tender his apology to Nigerians for his inciting statement.
You will recall that the Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed while lending his voice on the farmer-herders clashes said, herdsmen should possess arms to defend themselves and that they have the right to leave anywhere in Nigeria, as he opined Nigeria belonged to everybody.
