How suspected IPOB killed four, abduct nine Taraba indigene – Family

Suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have been accused of killing four residents of Ibbi community, in Ibbi LGA of Taraba State.
The residents were allegedly killed in the early hours, on Monday in Anambra state, while traveling in a 24-seater bus.
Nine others, including women and children, remain missing after the incident.
Jalo Ibbi, who lost two of his brothers in the attack, told DAYLIGHTREPORTERS in a telephone conversation on Friday, that the victims, who are fishermen, were traveling to the River Niger in Anambra State for fishing business.
Mr Ibbi said the journey which is performed annually was a tradition for fishermen from Ibbi who traveled to different locations in the South East and South South for their livelihood.
“The victims were traveling in a 24-seater bus along with their families when they encountered a roadblock set up by IPOB members around 1am on Monday.
“The attackers separated the male passengers from the bus, numbering 14, while seven women and six children were left inside.
“Four of the passengers were killed on the spot by the IPOB members and nine others taken into the forest.
“The slain victims are Lukman Haruna, Abbas Ahmadu, Barau Ahmadu and Isa Dogara. The nine missing persons are Samir Sule, Abdullahi Sule, Hussein Abdu, Usama Nasuru, Sani Tanko, Salihu Mohammed, Yusuf Isa, Abdullahi Isa, and Saminu Ibbi.” Ibbi said.
Emmanuel Bello, the Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication to Governor Agbu Kefas said that governor Kefas, is aware of the ugly incident and the government “is doing something about it.”
Efforts to speak with the representatives of the Constituency, Jim Kuta, Senator representing Taraba South, Ayuba Zaku, representing Wukari/Ibbi federal, Zakari Sanusi, representing Ibbi State constituency and Iliya Muhammed the local government chairman was fruitless as they were not rechargeable as at the time of filing this report.
