Bauchi state government has charged the newly inaugurated board members of the Bauchi State Environmental Protection Agency (BASEPA) to give their positive contributions towards safeguarding the environment.
The state commissioner for environment and housing Hamisu Shira gave the charge while inaugurating the board members of the agency.
He said the present administration of governor Bala Mohammed has come up with a robust plan of overcoming the numerous environmental problems facing various communities of the state.
According to him, modern initiatives have been introduced to keep Bauchi state clean and save it from environmental hazards.
The commissioner who doubles as the chairman of the board, recalled that the present administration has considered as important, keeping the state clean through proper waste and environmental management.
“It is my hope that you know fully what BASEPA stands for and what His Excellency Bala Mohammed stands for especially as it affects the waste management, waste recycling, keeping Bauchi state clean not only Bauchi metropolis but all the cities of the state, that you will give your support at all times.” He said.
Shira mentioned some of the mandates of the board to include the formation of policies and general management of the agency and reminded them of the task ahead of them of supporting the agency to succeed in its constitutional responsibility.
