A 25-year-old man Identified as Sabo Yusuf was killed on Wednesday by gunmen who abducted his mother and brother in the Birnin Kudu Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
The spokesman of Police in the State, ASP Z.I. Aminudeen, who confirmed the incident to newsmen, said that the incident happened at about 0325HRS, at Birnin kudu town, where unknown persons trespassed, attacked and shot one of his Abubakar’s sons on the chest before disappearing, with his wife and another son to an unknown destination.
Aminudeen said the victim was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kudu by the police, where he was certified dead by a medical doctor on duty.
He said the police were making frantic efforts to rescue the kidnapped victims and track the fleeing culprits.
However, the Command called on members of the public to be more vigilant, as well as report any suspicious movement of persons to the police for appropriate action.
