Group To Mobilise 10 Million Nigerian Youths For Peace

A pressure group in the country known as ‘Youth O’clock Advancement Association of Nigeria’ has said it is on a mission to mobilise 10 million Nigerian youths to promote peace and unity across the country.
National Coordinator Seth Francis stated this during a peace dialogue hosted by the geoup in Gombe State for youth students, politicians, traditional and religious leaders at the Education Resource Centre, Gombe.
“The event aimed to foster understanding among diverse religious and tribal groups, promote peaceful coexistence and social cohesion,” he said.
He added that the objective of the organisation is to empower young people, instill leadership skills in them, and encourage active participation in decision-making processes.
Gombe State Coordinator for Youth O’clock Abdulaziz Sani Labaran highlighted the need to address youth-related violence in the state particularly thuggery.
He said to tackle this issue, the organisation plans to collaborate with the state police command to provide rehabilitation programmes, skills training, and startup grants for the notorious ‘Kalare thugs’ in the state.
“In January, 200 youth benefited from our training in fire fighting and first aid skills”, he stated.
Religious leaders, including state CAN (Christian Association of Nigeria) chairman Reverend Joseph Shinga and that of JNI (Jama’atu Nasril Islam)
, Saleh Danburam, have endorsed the peace dialogue, advocating for regular event to strengthen social bonds and promote peace.
