President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Head of State, General Abdussalam Abubakar Abdulsalam, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum and others have praised Niger State Governor, Umar Bago, for his initiative to turnaround the state’s fortune through investment in green economy.
They made the commendation while speaking separately at the The two-day Green Economy Summit held in Minna on Tuesday themed “Sustainable Future: Harnessing Green Assets and Innovation for Niger State’s Prosperity.”
In his address,President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who was representes by the Minister of State for Agriculture and food security Senator Abdullahi Sabi, said the state will benefit from the newly approved solid mineral development policy during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held on Monday.
He promised to provide unfettered support for Bago’s Green Economy initiative aimed at unlocking the vast mineral resources across the State.
On his part, the former Head of State General Abubakar Abdulsalam commended Governor Bago for providing quality leadership since he assumed office and commended his support for the Green Economy initiative.
While speaking, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State also commended Governor Bago’s initiative and expressed optimism that the summit would help achieve economic transformation and employment generation.
He noted that the increasing cost of fossil fuel and carbon emissions into the environment were major concerns for Nigeria and the world at large.
The summit discussed ways to harness the potential of green assets in Niger State to promote economic growth while protecting the environment.
It features speakers from various sectors who will share their experiences and expertise on how to develop a sustainable green economy.
