Governor Radda Hails Buni’s Emergence As Lake Chad Basin Governors’ Forum Chairman

Katsina State Governor and Chairman of the Northwest Governors’ Forum, Malam Dikko Radda, has extended warm congratulations to Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State on his emergence as Chairman of the Lake Chad Basin Governors’ Forum.
In his congratulatory message, Governor Radda expressed confidence in Governor Buni’s ability to lead the Forum in addressing the challenges facing the Lake Chad Basin region, particularly in the areas of security, economic development, and poverty alleviation.
This was contained in a statement by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Katsina State.
“Governor Buni’s election comes at a crucial time when our region needs strong, collaborative leadership to tackle the multifaceted challenges we face,” said Governor Radda.
“His experience and dedication to regional development make him exceptionally qualified to lead this important forum.”
Governor Radda noted with satisfaction the recent progress reported by Governor Buni in the Lake Chad Basin region.
“Much progress has been made in the Lake Chad Basin region in recent years which has steadily been stabilized, with voluntary, safe, dignified return and integration of displaced populations and a growing momentum for durable solutions towards the rebuilding of lives and livelihoods of the affected communities,” he quoted Governor Buni as saying.
The Lake Chad Basin Region (LCBR) serves as a vital platform for regional cooperation and coordination among the Basin’s
eight territories.
Governor Radda particularly recognized its role as a platform to strengthen and promote good governance, cross-border cooperation and coordinated action among member states.
Governor Radda reaffirmed Katsina State and the Northwest Governors’ Forum commitment to supporting the region initiatives under Governor Buni’s leadership, emphasizing the importance of regional collaboration in achieving lasting solutions to shared challenges.
