Gov Namadi pledges continued support for healthcare development

Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to enhance the state’s healthcare system for the good of its citizens.He gave the assurance while speaking during the official flag-off event for the distribution of laptops to 291 health facilities across Jigawa State, at Ahmadu Bello Hall of the Jigawa State Secretariat in Dutse,saying this will add value in the ongoing digitilization of the state’s healthcare services.
Governor Namadi said that this initiative is a critical component of the administration’s “accelerated pursuit of human development services” agenda. The Governor stressed that the distribution of laptops to 291 Health Information Technicians (HITs) would facilitate data-driven decision-making, improve healthcare service delivery, and contribute significantly to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“The distribution of laptops to 291 Health Information Technicians (HIT) across all 291 health facilities spread all over the 27 local government areas of Jigawa State is a clear demonstration of our commitment to the strengthening of our health systems by equipping our health workers with the necessary tools. In particular, this would ensure that data management and quality assurance become integral parts of our health system,” he said.
The initiative was made possible through the generous support of the World Bank’s IMPACT Project and is aimed at equipping health workers across the state with necessary tools for efficient data management, ensuring quality assurance, and improving the overall health system. This, according to Governor Namadi, would ensure accountability, transparency, and better service delivery at all levels of healthcare in Jigawa State.
The Governor also used the occasion to commend healthcare workers across the state, recognizing their commitment and service as the foundation of this administration’s health sector reforms.Also expressed deep appreciation to the World Bank and other development partners for their continued support in improving the Jigawa State’s healthcare system.
Also speaking, Dr. Bello Inuwa Mohammad from the World Health Organization, who represented the health sector partners in Jigawa State, thanked the state government under Governor Umar Namadi for providing an enabling environment for the partners to operate in the state.
He emphasized that the only way to push healthcare forward is through the revitalization and digitilization of the primary healthcare system, pledging to continue supporting the governor to ensure that he achieved his objectives of ensuring the wellbeing of the citizens.
