Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle has sworn in 6 Permanent Secretaries, 4 Special Advisers, State Auditor General for Local Governments, Chairmen and permanent Commissioners of State House of Assembly Service Commission and Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission ZASIEC respectively.
In a statement, Press Secretary to the Governor, Jamilu Iliyasu Birnin Magaji states that, the appointees were sworn in by the Governor on Thursday.
The statement listed the Special Advisers sworn-in as; Musa Ibrahim Samaru;Nafiu Rabiu Anka; Alhaji Muktar Shikkau Kaura and Alhaji Kamilu Saidu Kasuwar Daji.
It added, “The new Permanent Secretaries included Bashir Salihu Mafara, QS Attahiru Muhammad Maradun, Malam Bashir Surajo Gusau, Aminu Jibril Guraguri Shinkafi, Abdussalam Turaki Kotorkoshi and Yazid Attahiru Bungudu, while Alhaji Aminu Mammaga was sworn-in as State Auditor-General for Local Governments.
“Similarly, Alhaji Mansur A Musa Bungudu was sworn-in as Chairman State House of Assembly Service Commission with Abdulkadir Abdullahi Gaula, Sani Umar Gusau, Garba Muhammad Modomawa, Yunusa Abdullahi Kuturu, Hajiya Zainab Halilu Anka and Hon Muhammad Maikudi Kaya as Permanent Commissioners of the Commission”.
According to the statement,the governor also swore-in Alhaji Isah Umar Gusau as Chairman Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission ZASIEC.
The ZASIEC Chairman was sworn in alongside his permanent Commissioners, Alhaji Abdullahi Garba Marmaro, Barrister Isah Altine Wonaka, Kabiru Isah Jangeru, Muhammad Sani Wakili, Tukur Aliyu Haido, Mainasara Shehu Bakura, and Abdulkareem Balarabe Boko respectively.
Speaking at the Swearing in Ceremony held at the Council Chambers, Government House Gusau, Governor Matawalle urged the appointees to deploy their wealth of experience and expertise in ensuring proper implementation of Government policies and programmes.
For the Special Advisers and other appointees. the Governor informed them that attaining this level is, an indication that they have the trust of the Government and the goodwill of the general public.
He charged them to live above board in the discharge of their responsibilities so as to justify the confidence reposed in them.
The Governor said, as special Advisers, they should bear in mind that their role is to complement the State Executive Council in fashioning out efficient policies and programmes to accelerate the development of the state.
He informed the new Permanent Secretaries that, their role in the general administration of the respective organizations is crucial, adding that, the success or otherwise of their MDAs to carry out the mandate rested on them.
He called on them to stick to the provisions of the civil service rules and ensure zero tolerance to laxity, corruption and indiscipline, pointing out that this administration will not tolerate any compromise and disregard to the principles of due process and rule of law.
Addressing the newly appointed Chairmen and permanent Commissioners of the state House of Assembly Service Commission and that of the State Independent Electoral Commission ZASIEC, the governor drew their attention to the sensitivity of their Commissions, especially in the general administration of the State.
Governor Matawalle reminded the newly appointed State Auditor-General for Local Governments that, Zamfara State has joined some States of the Federation that have established the Bureau for Public Procurement and implemented the global accounting system of IPSAS.
He therefore said, there is hence the need for him as the Auditor-General to strive hard in ensuring that no individual or organization violates the guiding accounting principles and practices.
The Governor then assured people of the state that his Administration will remain committed to creating an enabling environment to foster development in the state.
Governor Matawalle promises to bring people of different experiences into his Administration in order to deliver their best and contribute in achieving the mandates given to them by the people of Zamfara State until the last day of this administration.
He called on all political appointees, civil servants and entire people of Zamfara state to pray and support the Government in achieving lasting peace and tranquility, as well as the success of their gallant security forces as they battle across various theatres in the state.
