Gov. Matawalle mourns ex-Buhari aide, Wada Maida
Zamfara State Governor, Bello Muhammad Matawalle has expressed shock over the death of Malam Wada Maida, former Chief Press Secretary to President Muhammadu Buhari and Chairman Board of Directors of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
In a statement signed by Yusuf Idris Gusau, Director General Media, Public Enlightenment and Communication, Zamfara Government House, the Governor described late Maida as an idol in the media industry across the world being a member of various well known national and international media bodies and institutions.
He said the invaluable contributions of the deceased to the growth and development as well as encouragement of many Nigerian youth into media practice will ever be remembered in credible dissemination of information.
The Governor recalled the good performance of the deceased when he served as Chief Press Secretary to President Muhammadu Buhari when the latter was Military Head of State.
While commiserating with President Buhari, Gov. Matawalle condoled with the NAN, Media Trust and Peoples Daily families in particular and the Nigerian media industry as a whole.
He played Allah to grant him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdausi and give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
