The Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State Ahmed Shuaibu Gara has exonerated his principal in the attack on the campaign office of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate Mohammed Barde on Monday where his political billboards and banners were burnt by suspected thugs.
Gara in a press statement issued to our correspondent yesterday explained that the governor had nothing to do with the incident.
“His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Gombe State Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya has nothing to do with the incident of destruction of Bill Boards of the People’s Democratic Party or any of its candidates.
“It is premature to apportion blame as the police and other security agencies are investigating the incident”. He retorted.
According to him, Inuwa’s style of politics is non violent adding that the governor has repeatedly directed the commissioner of police, other security agencies and the commissioner for internal security to ensure that all democratic institutions and structures are safe in the state.
He called on all citizens to be law abiding assuring that government would do everything possible to protect them.
