An APC support group in Bauchi state known as ‘Manazarta Siyasar Jam’iyyar APC’ has commented on the speculations that the state governor Bala Mohammed wants to defect from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) declaring that the governor is not welcome in their party.
Chairman of the group Yahya Idris Suleiman made the declaration in an interview with newsmen Monday where he said that they do not want the governor to join APC ‘because he would spoil it’.
“We appeal to the people of Bauchi state to calm down on the current speculations on social media and radio of the governor’s defection to APC. We are doing everything possible to avert it. We will only be working with good people in the party.
“The governor is trying to defect to this party. But by God’s grace, it will not work. Let him remain in the party that gave him the mandate. He should remain there.
“If he thinks he is doing good, why won’t he stay there and get re-elected? Our findings proved that he is not doing the needful as he is accumulating debts for Bauchi state”.
He commended the Muhammadu Buhari led federal government for the several projects it has so far initiated in the north like the railway project from Katsina to Niger republic, road from Akwanga in Nassarawa state to Jos and Bauchi, Bauchi to Adamawa and the construction of huge ultra modern bridge in Taraba state among others.
He also hailed the federal government for mitigating insurgency in the north east, banditry in north west.
