Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, on Sunday paid an unscheduled visit to Dr. Amina Abubakar Government Girls College Birnin Kebbi where he inspected the ongoing construction projects in the school.
The governor, who was accompanied by the Commissioner of Finance, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammed Augie, the Principal of the School, Hajiya Salamatu Bala Tafida and the Representative of the construction company, Muhamed Lawal went round the project site, to assess the quality of the work.
While going round the school, students clapped and waved at the Governor in appreciation for the visit.
The Principal of the School, Hajiya Salamatu Bala Tafida, thanked the Governor for the visit, saying that, it has become the usual habit of the governor to always inspect projects in her school.
She averred, ” I feel happy to see him come for inspection of the projects, since the projects started, he is always here to see the progress made .”
She expressed delight about the concern of the governor for girl- child education describing the passion of Bagudu on girl child education as unprecedented in the history of the state.
Hajiya Salamatu also commended governor Bagudu for the ongoing construction work of new 2 blocks of hostels, college clinic, library, 2 blocks of 4 classrooms, construction of additional staff quarters, Corpers’ lodge and the construction of the college kitchen.
She also said that in addition to the new projects going on in the college, renovation work was steadily taking place , to renovate class rooms, labotories , 6 blocks of hostels, principal and staff quarters, as well as the entire college fence.
On his part, the Representative of the construction firm handling the projects, Usmaniya Nigeria Limited, Muhamed Lawal, promised to complete the work on schedule and according to specification .
He commended the Kebbi State Government for living up to its financial obligations as and when due.
