Gombe Teaching Hospital Forbids Staff From Cryptocurrency ‘Mining’ During Duty
To avert distraction during duty, the management of the Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe, Gombe State has forbidden its staff from cryptocurrency ‘mining’ during working hours.
Deputy director of administration of the hospital Adamu Usman Tela announce this in an internal circular to the staff, a copy obtained by DAYLIGHT REPORTERS on Thursday.
He disclosed that the directive followed series of complaints received from patients and their relatives that staff are being distracted at duty posts because of mining and other cryptocurrency activities.
“Consequent upon this, I am further directed to inform all members of staff that the management will not hesitate to take drastic action in accordance with Public Service Rule against any staff that is caught engaging in such trading while working.
“The management has already deployed SERVICOM, ACTU, and security officers around to monitor and ensure compliance with the directives.”, he warned
