Not fewer than 84 people were killed and 939 sustained various degrees of injuries in Gombe state as a result of about 350 road accidents that occurred in parts of the state from January to November this year.
The Gombe state command of the Federal Roads Safety Commission (FRSC) disclosed this in a statistical information signed by the sector commander of the corps Ishaku Gabmi Ibrahim and released to our correspondent.
According to him, the accidents involved 1, 548 passengers saying of the figure, only 525 escaped unhurt.
The sector commander who gave a breakdown of the casualties revealed that from January to March, 102 accidents were recorded with 32 deaths and 298 injuries.
While between April and June, he stated that there were 32 deaths, 319 injured victims and 16 deaths and 269 injured victims from July to September.
Ishaku said from October to November, a total of four people were killed, 53 wounded in the 22 different crashes in the state.
He appealed to all road users to be ambassadors of road safety and obey all the safety guidelines in order to avoid loss of lives to crashes.
