The Gombe State Police Command led by Commissioner of Police Oqua Etim on Monday decorated 270 inspectors who were elevated to the ranks of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASPs) in recent time.
Speaking on behalf of the Acting Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the police commissioner said the promotion of the officers followed their successful interviews with the Departmental Selection Board.
“These officers were promoted as recommended by Inspector General of Police, in promotions released by the Police Service Commission (PSC).”, he stated.
The CP congratulated and reminded them that their new ranks come with higher expectations urging them to protect the citizens’ lives and properties with greater commitment.
He also warned that there would be no tolerance for unscrupulous elements in the Command adding that their new statuses are meant to impact positively on their families and the society in general.
Etim expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police for his priority in personnel welfare and assured that the Command under his watch would continue to make efforts to maintain the relative peace and security in Gombe State.
