Gombe Police Command Prepares For National Police Day

The Gombe State Police Command has commenced activities ahead of the inaugural National Police Day, in line with the Presidential directive.
The initiative aims to honor police officers’ sacrifices, enhance community relations, and build public trust.
As part of the preparations, over 500 officers took part in a sanitation exercise, cleaning key public areas, including Gombe New Market, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dan-Kwanbo Mega Motor Park, and Gombe Central Roundabout.
Speaking on the initiative, the Command’s Public Relations Officer DSP Buhari Abdullahi stated that this outreach strengthens the bond between the police and the public, ensuring a cleaner environment and better engagement.
Residents welcomed the initiative, with traders like Salome Sule and Adamu Babale Makera describing it as a positive step toward fostering cooperation between the police and the community.
More activities are scheduled, including a town hall meeting with stakeholders on Thursday, a free medical outreach on Friday, and a school sensitization campaign on Saturday.
The official National Police Day celebration will take place on April 7.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Yahaya, has reaffirmed the force’s commitment to security, public trust, and the well-being of citizens.
