The proposed private university to be established in Gombe state has submitted its strategic documents to the National Universities Commission (NUC) in Abuja.
Dr Sani Jauro, the Executive Director, Pen Resource Academy Gombe, who led the committee to NUC secretariat presented a brief history of the proprietor’s surjourn in educational services delivery through a slide show detailing where and how they started in 2011 with a Nursery/Primary and Junior Secondary schools . They gradually built a Day Secondary School and, a Boarding Secondary school and Robotics Centre.
While speaking, Dr. Jauro explained that the Academy is graduating its fifth set this year and that all the products of the Academy have successfully transited to various universities across the world. Dr Jauro further presented slides of the existing facilities for the take-off of the university.
A detailed presentation on the proposed university’s level of preparedness in terms of use of cutting edge technology for teaching, learning, research as well as management was presented by Mr Umar Zubair.
The Committee subsequently engaged in an interactive session with the Executive Secretary (ES) of the commission, Prof. Abubakar A Rasheed and his team of Directors.
The ES commended the committee for a well- done job and assured them of full cooperation.
Prof. Rasheed stressed that a team of experts from the commission would come to the University for an assessment to evaluate facilities and the level of preparedness of the University to take-off.
Present on the proposed Pen Resource University’s team were Dr Aliyu Abubakar Bafeto of the University of Abuja, Prof. Sale Abdullahi of Nile University Abuja and Prof. Mustafa Jamda, Provost of the College of Medical and Health Sciences, University of Abuja.
