The Deputy Director, New Media Directorate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial campaign council and chairman of the PDP Social Media Team, Hon. Adamu A. Babale Makera, has dumped the party for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Makera says, “be notified that from today, I’ve joined the New Nigeria People’s Party” as a caption of a picture taken with the NNPP’s gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki.
“I know some peoplle may ask for the reason of my defection, sure there must be a reason or reasons, but the main reason was Section 40 of the Constitution which gives right of association which he can exercise art any given time”.
Makera’s defection has created a wide gap that could hardly be filled by the PDP in the build up to the 2023 general elections.
One of his close associates informed us that he defected alongside hundreds of PDP Social Media lieutenants who would be announcing their defection at different later time.
It could be recalled that, Daylight Reporter had recenetly reported that the Director Youths Mobilisation of the Campaign Management Council, Hon. Ado Wantos had resigned and later join the ruling APC in the State.
