Gombe PDP Governorship Candidate Barde Rejects Supreme Court’s Judgement
…”We left them with God”, he says
The 2023 Gombe State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate Mohammed Barde has faulted the recent judgement delivered by the supreme court of Nigeria affirming the election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Inuwa Yahaya as the governor of the state.
DAYLIGH REPORTERS reports that Barde has challenged the victory of the governor who is now serving second term at the tribunal, court of appeal and up to the apex court but he was unsuccessful.
Barde in a special address to the people of the state via the Radio on Tuesday, which was monitored by DAYLIGHT REPORTERS, said the courts used technicalities to rule in favour of Governor Inuwa.
He lamented that there is no purposeful leadership in the state vowing that he would continue to aspire for better leadership for the state.
He thanked the people of the state for voting the PDP to represent the state at the national assembly pointing out that the party got five out of six houses of representatives’ seats, two out of the three senators in the state.
He added that PDP’s presidential candidate had defeated the candidate of the ruling party in the state and alleged that he was rigged out during the governorship election.
Barde said, although he exhausted all avenues to get redress and justice in the courts, he would not relent in the struggle to bring positive change in the state.
