Gombe PDP Castigates Governor Inuwa Over Failure to Honour Minimum Wage Agreement
By Juliet Vincent
The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State has expressed solidarity with civil servants, condemning the Governor Inuwa Yahaya-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government’s failure to implement the agreed-upon minimum wage increase.
PDP said despite signing the wage agreement, the state government has fallen short, delivering only a fraction of the promised wage increase.
In a press release by its state Public Relations Officer, Abdulkadir Ahmad Dukku, the party lamented that the government’s neglect undermines the livelihoods of dedicated civil servants and reveals a troubling pattern of insincerity and disregard for public service workers.
Dukku emphasised that the PDP has long advocated for fair compensation, criticising the current approach as self-serving and prioritising political posturing over genuine support.
The PDP’s stance comes amid recent delays in October salary payments and unfulfilled promises of a minimum wage increase.
