A group of 10 non-political associations in Gombe state have purchased nomination and expression of interest forms, for Alhaji Bala Bello Tinka, to contest for the Gombe North Senatorial District seat, under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Presenting the forms on behalf of the groups, state Chairman of Nigerian Association of Patent and Proprietary Medicine Dealers (NAPMED), Alhaji Salisu Abdul-Aziz, said the groups decided to purchase the forms because they believe in his capacity to give them a good representation.
He explained that the N23 million came through voluntary donations from the members of the 10 associations which comprising of professionals, entrepreneurs, farmers’ groups among others, “who strongly believe in Tinka and benefitted from his various interventions and philanthropic activities.”
In their separate remarks, chairmen of the associations, expressed optimism that when elected into office, Bala Tinka will give people of Gombe north a good representation.
Speaking shortly after receiving the forms, Tinka expressed happiness for the love shown to him by the associations, saying that when elected he will do everything possible to uphold their trust.
He added that he has consulted widely across the five local government areas of the zone, saying after the end of the consultation we got people nod to contest for the seat.
Daily Trust reported that the Nigerian Association of Patent and Proprietary Medicine Dealers (NAPMED), donated N5 million, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), N5million and provision sellers’ association, N3.5million while oil millers’ association donated N3million.
Others are; Gombe outskirts marketers’ association, N2million, while tea sellers’ association, Makeran Farfaru association and Achaba riders’ association donated N500,000 each.
