Gombe Market Fire: PDP Stalwart, Hamma Saleh, Sympathies With Traders
By Najib Sani, Gombe
PDP Stalwart and former governorship aspirant in Gombe State, Abdulkadir Hamma Saleh, has commiserated with traders of the popular Gombe old market over the recent inferno in the market.
Few days ago, a night fire outbreak ravaged the old market, destroying shops and property worth millions of naira.
In a press release issued to journalists on Wednesday, Hammasaleh expressed his condolences to the affected traders and urged authorities to take proactive measures to prevent similar disasters in the future.
The politician emphasised the importance of traders being mindful of electrical appliances to avoid future recurrences of such incidents.
According to him, the fire outbreak has left many traders in a state of distress and highlighted the need for collective responsibility in preventing such disasters.
“As we sympathise with the victims, the government and well-to-do individuals should come together to rebuild and empower the traders. Moreso, we should find a way of preventing future recurrences”, he stated.
