The Gombe State government has declined to comment on the implementation of the new national minimum wage, leaving many in the state wondering about the next steps.
Despite repeated attempts, the Head of Civil Service, Ahmed Kasimu Abdullahi, did not respond to phone calls or return them as of press time.
When contacted, the media aide to the state governor, Inuwa Yahaya, who also serves as the chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, Isma’ila Uba Misilli, stated that it was “too early to comment” on the matter.
He added that the governors’ reaction (Northern Governors Forum) was still pending.
The lack of response from the state government has left many in suspense, awaiting clarity on the implementation of the new minimum wage in Gombe State.
