Hon. Musa Zubairu Kaltungo, the Campaign Director of Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State in Kaltungo local government area has dumped the ruling Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Mr. Kaltungo said at a ceremony in Kaltungo on Wednesday that he left the ruling APC because the government failed to fulfil their campaign promises.
Mr. Kaltungo said that he left the party because he opposed some actions of the government which according to him, the government is not ready to take correction.
He noted that he is retracing steps to PDP to join forces with others in taking the party to greater heights adding that as a true democrat, PDP is the right party to follow.
The PDP Chairman in Gombe, General Amom Kwaskebe Rtd, represented by his deputy, A M Zakari and other leaders of the party, received the defectors and presented them with the party’s membership cards.
He called on the people of the state to cooperate with the party to defend democracy and save the state from the misrule of the APC.
He was Governor Yahaya’s campaign coordinator before he emerged as the APC gubernatorial flag bearer in 2018.
