Flooding caused by heavy rainfall has killed two people and destroyed over 50 houses in Bajoga, headquarters of Funakaye local government area in Gombe State, just as several other persons were injured from the effects of the rainfall.
Some of the areas affected include Shara Mansur, Unguwar Wakili Maizara, Railway line Bajoga, all in Bajoga town.
Resident of the area, Abdallah Bajoga, told Daylight Reporters that said the early Sathurday morning downpour wreaked havoc for five hours.
He added that representatives of the state government and officials of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) have visited the affected areas on Sunday to ascertain the level of damage caused by the flooding.
