The Kullum Community in Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State has expressed its resolve to promote girl-child education in the interest of development.
Spokesman of the community Waziri Ibrahim said this in a statement issued to newsmen in Gombe on Thursday.
He said that the community took the resolution at a recent stakeholders’ meeting which was used to explore the importance of girl-child education.

The spokesman said that education was a veritable tool for women emancipation and national development.
”As a community, we have unanimously agreed to support girl-child education. We have realised its importance.
”Our community has not done well in educating female children. We have to sensitise our people to the importance of enrolling female children in school,” he said.
He also said that the community had decided to participate actively in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration.
”We are encouraging our people to get registered and obtain their voter cards. We must be part of the process,” he said.
