Gombe State has captured over 14, 000 plots allocated in the state on its digital geographic information system.
Director general of Gombe State Geographic Information System (GOGIS) Kabiru Usman Hassan disclosed this Friday during the flagg off of presentation of digital certificates of occupancy to land and property owners in the state.
He said GOGIS has also captured the entire aeriel photograph of the 11 local governments of the state adding that with that orthophoto, the agency can simply acces plots anywhere in the state.
According to him, the digital certificate was the first of its kind in the state adding that the idea was aimed at upholding public trust with digital land management.
“Manual land allocation is now automated which accelerated the process by over 200 percent. This helps us detect and prevent distortions, encroachment and forgery. So many land disputes have been resolved”. He noted.
Apart from reforming land administration in the state, the director general further stated that GOGIS has boosted the internal revenue of the state as it generated the sum of N744 million to the state since the inception of the administration of Governor Inuwa Yahaya.
This is even as he said that they computed the outstanding ground rent owed to the state government to the tune of over N500 million appealing to all title holders to come forward and settle their outstanding bills.
