The Court of Appeal, Gombe Judicial Divisions, has set aside the order of Trial Court granting the State Attorney General, Zubairu Umar (Respondent), the sum of three million five hundred naira as refund.
After hearing, Habu Abdu, the counsel for the Respondent, the Presiding Justice, Hon. Justice J.H Sankey in suit no: GM/152/2018, on the case between Peoples Democratic Party (Appellant) and Zubairu Muhammad Umar (Respondent) ordered that the Appeal of the Appellant is meritorious and that it is allowed.
In the document obtained by Daylight Reporters, it was gathered that the High Court of Justice of Gombe state, earlier on the 23rd November, 2018 by Hon. Justice A.M Yakubu, granting the refund of N3,500,000 in favour of the Plaintiff Respondent against the Defendant Appellant.
While on Wednesday, the 11th day of November, 2020, upon reading the record of the Appeal and other relevant processes filed, the
Presiding Justice ordered that ‘no order as to costs’.

Recall that, Barr. Zubair Muhammad Umar, the present Attorney General of Gombe State has took away a car belonging to the appellant, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) demanding for the refund of N3.5 million he used in purchase of his nomination form for the Gombe North Senatorial seat as an aspirant.
