About 20 Almajiris in Bauchi state have benefited from empowerment program sponsored by Al-muhibba Foundation.
The project organised by Al-muhibba Foundation, started with Markazi center for Islamic knowledge under Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi foundation held at the Kobi Football ground.
Speaking at the occasion, the state first lady who is also the founder of Al-muhibba Foundation Hajiya Aishatu Bala Muhammad said the project is aimed at taking Almajiri children off the street by empowering them with start up packs and encourage them to start the small scale businesses so as to become financially independent and self reliant.
Hajiya Aishatu Bala Muhammad also said the gesture was to encourage them put more effort in small businesses and to eradicate poverty among youths.
The First Lady call on the Almajiri teachers to teach them how to take care of themselves and ensure that their environment and clothes are always clean for them to stay healthy.
Aishatu Bala Muhammad advised the teachers to limit the number of enrolled students so as to have good time to monitor them.
She therefore used the forum to call on the parents that sent their children to tsangaya Schools to try their best in taking the responsibility of their wards by visiting them on quarterly bases so as to know their problem and tackle it.
In his good will message sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi who was represented by Malam Sulaiman Kobi commended the first lady for her effort toward assisting the less privileged in the society.
Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi said the empowerment will assist the Almajiri to engage themselves in various businesses and called on the first lady to continue with the project so that others will benefit from it.
He therefore called on the beneficiaries to make good use of the start up capital so as to become self reliant.
In her welcome address, the Director of Al-Muhibbah Foundation Hajiya Ladi Ibrahim, said the essence of the program is to encourage the Almajiri to partake in small businesses and to get access to western education easily.
She called on the beneficiaries to use what is given to them judiciously.
At the end of the event the first lady was awarded by Daily Ventures Cleaners for her effort towards assisting orphans and Vulnerable children in the society.
