Association of Resident Doctors, Federal Medical Center (FMC), Abeokuta, has demanded accountability, civility and good governance from the hospital management to perform their duties efficiently.
This is contained in a statement jointly signed by Dr Adebiyi Oluwabusuyi and Dr Ajibola Michael, President and General Secretary of the association respectively on Wednesday in Abeokuta.
According to the statement, the association reiterated that the demand was nothing personal against the Managing Director of the Hospital, Prof. Adewale Musa-Olomu as it was not interested in the politics of the center.
“We only demand good governance, accountability, civility and dignity in a conducive environment where we can carry out our life-saving functions without distraction and fear of molestation.
“The emergency congress of the association will hold on Thursday and then proceed to formally address a press conference on the outcome of the meeting,” it explained.
It would be recalled that the Prof. Musa-Olomu was reappointed as the Managing Director of the facility in September. (NAN)
