A 40-year old man, Odeyemi Ademola, who claimed to be an estate agent was on Friday docked at an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, over alleged misconduct and stealing.
Ademola, whose residential address was not provided, was also charged with conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Gbemisola Adedeji told the court that Ademola allegedly committed the offences in December 2021, at about 10. 30 p.m., at Agajopo quarters, Kuola area, Ibadan.
Adedeji said that the defendant allegedly conducted himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace by claiming to be an estate agent.
She said that the defendant also allegedly and unlawfully converted the sum of N65, 000, property of one Toyin Onawunmi, to his own use without the claimant’s knowledge.
She said that the offences contravened Sections 249(D) and 390 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000..
The defendant however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate A. O. Akande granted the defendant bail in the sum of N30, 000 and one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case until June 1, for a hearing.
