EXCLUSIVE: Tragedy Strikes In Gombe As Achaba Rider Brutally Murdered By Thugs
A senseless and brutal attack on an achaba rider one Dahiru Muhammad Sani by motorcycle snatchers in Gombe State has left people reeling in shock and grief.
Dahiru, a local achaba rider, was stabbed in the head and robbed of his motorcycle by thugs near the ‘Welcome to Gombe’ signpost on Bauchi Road.
According to Bello Malam, the brother of the deceased, the incident occurred on Saturday, August 31, 2024, around 11 a.m., shortly after Dahiru left for work.
He said a police officer discovered Dahiru lying unconscious and rushed him to the Gombe State Teaching Hospital (FTH), where doctors confirmed he had suffered a severe stab wound on the head.
Sadly, Dahiru succumbed to his injuries and passed away at around 9 pm. that same night.
Our correspondent reports that the circumstances surrounding this heinous crime were alarming, leaving the Gombe community in fear and mourning.
When contacted, the police spokesman in the state Buhari Abdullahi confirmed the incident and said that the victim carried two passengers in the night at about 10pm who asked him to take them to the welcome to Gombe gate.
He said police had helped to evacuate the victim to hospital.
He advised commercial motorcyclists to avoid carrying people in the night to empty areas to ensure their own safety.
