“I’m very grateful to the coaches for giving me the chance to play for my country. Although that was not result we expected, but I know that every game is a learning curve for me,” Onwuasonaya said.
“Nobody like to lose I must admit that, but we could settle into this game, we were two goals down already and that is football for you. We keep on learning in every game, whether result was favourable to us or not,” he added .
Onwuasonaya, who plies his trade with Plateau United in the Nigeria Professional Football League ( NPFL), started the game for the Super Eagles and was substituted in the 62nd minute after he copped up muscle cramp.
