The Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Adamu, on Saturday, reaffirmed support to promote uptake of primary healthcare services to ensure successful implementation of health related projects in the state.
The royal father stated this when officials of Marie Stopes International Organisation Nigeria (MSION), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), paid him homage in Bauchi.
Adamu, represented by Alhaji Ibrahim Saidu, District Head of Zungur, commended the Bauchi government for providing an enabling environment to facilitate smooth operations of development partners in the state.
Earlier, Mr Emmanuel Ajah, Country Director, MSION, said the organisation was implementing a health intervention programme tagged: “Women’s Integrated Services for Health (WISH)” in the state.
He said the organisation was also implementing a reproductive and sexual health programme in the past three years in the state, adding that WISH had been introduced to expand the scope of the programme.
According to him, WISH project is a 12 months project to be implemented in Bauchi and Sokoto States.
