The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has deployed 100 personnel, two patrol vehicles and one ambulance on the Benin-Ore Expressway for Special Patrol during the Eld-el-kabir celebration.
Mr Olusegun Aladenika, FRSC Unit Commander, Ore, told the News Agency of Nigerian(NAN) in Ore, Ondo State, on Tuesday.
Aladenika said that the Special Patrol which would run from July 28 to Aug. 8, would be monitored by Corps Marshals, Road Marshals and Special Marshals.
He urged mortorists on the Benin-Ore Expressway to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocols of 50 per cent passenger capacity, use of alcohol-based hand sanitisers and compulsory wearing of face masks.
The official said that any vehicle that flouted the COVID-19 protocols and other traffic rules would be impounded.
“We are deploying 100 personnel, two patrol vehicles and one ambulance on the Benin-Ore Expressway for the Sallah Special Patrol from July 28 to Aug. 8.
“We advise motorists plying the expressway to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocols, other traffic rules and regulations because any erring vehicle during the patrol will be impounded,” Aladenika said.
