The Honorable member of the House of Representatives, representing Birnin Magaji/Kaura Namoda Federal Constituency in Zamfara state, Hon Dr Aminu Sani Jaji, has countered media reports accusing him of master minding the protest against the Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC).
A statement signed by Abubakar Matawalle Chairman, Voice of Zamfara said “Our attention has been drawn to a malicious publication fingering our principal of master minding a protest at the EFCC.”
The statement which reads in part say “this is a totally malicious publication, unfounded, untrue, and concocted by a group who believe in junk journalism and political thuggery.
” For the records, Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji wholeheartedly believes in the rule of law and due process and would never sacrifice morality on the alter of desperation.
‘He has worked tirelessly with his personal resources to actualise the Presidency of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu , rising from his position as the chairman of contact and mobilisation committee of the Presidential Campaign Council , in which Bello Matawalle was totally unhappy and he made several attempts to sabotage Aminu jaji’s efforts in supporting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his own interests of Supporting the then presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, and former Vice president Atiku Abubakar.
‘The double face of Matawalle made him to provide support to PDP Presidential Candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and gave him a donation of Fifty Million Naira in order to support his presidential aspiration during the party’s President primaries.
‘This came to our knowledge when former Zamfara State Governor in company of the former Deputy Governor of Zamfara State paid a condolence visit to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (Wazirin Adamawa), where he (Atiku) asked the former Governor to express his gratitude to Matawalle for the gesture done to him during his party’s primary.
“In this regard, it is clear that Hon. Aminu Sani-Jaji has been one of the pillars of the APC in Zamfara and North-West in general through reputable character and fear of God.
“He’s one of the few people in Zamfara with grassroots support and sponsorship of the party in the state. He influenced the success of the Bola Tinubu presidential ticket.
‘For the avoidance of doubt and for the interest of the public, the reason why former Governor Bello Matawalle and his core travellers are worried of the person of Hon Aminu Jaji and his political movement, is that the country is aware of how Aminu jaji expanded his tentacles hundred percent to the success of Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election in which he (Matawalle) fought to the core.
Abubakar stressed that “it is also clear that Bello Matawalle played certain roles in his own way to undermine the Victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as follows:
‘ In his mischievous face, Matawalle refused Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to come to Zamfara State and interact with Zamfara State delegates ahead of the APC presidential primaries.
‘Failure of Bello Matawalle to deliver the donation of the sum of fifty million Naira (50m) by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the victims of Tudun Wada Gusau Central Market fire inferno, when he visited Zamfara State on a sympathy visit, the money which nobody knows its whereabouts other than Matawalle.
‘Moreover, Matawalle’s attitude of mischief refused to sign the nomination form of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, instead reached his colleagues, other APC Governors to influence them not to sign the nomination form of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
‘Matawalle is worried about why the current Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal attended the official Commissioning Ceremony of the Multi Million Naira newly constructed Birnin Magaji Central Jumuat Mosque, constructed by Hon Aminu Sani Jaji But is on record that Governor Matawalle was in PDP where Dauda Lawal, who was in APC then, invited Matawalle to inaugurate a project he provided for the Federal University Gusau community.
We therefore advice those playing dirty politics with highly exalted office of the Defence Ministry, Matawalle should concentrate fully on his duties as minister by concentrating on the haculean task of fixing the devastating insecurity in the North west and Nigeria as a whole, instead of engaging in polical vandetta and causing confusion among APC stalwarts in the state.
‘We therefore call on all Nigerians to disregard the malicious publication.
‘On our part, we want to use this medium to inform the public that we are ever ready to take legal action against this malicious publication aimed at damaging the good person of our principal, Hon Aminu Sani Jaji’ It added.
