The Delta state House of Assembly on Tuesday lauded the establishment of magistrates’ in Osubi Community, Okpe Local Government Area of the state
The Speaker, Mr Oborevwore Sheriff who spoke to Journalists in Asaba said that the official opening of the Court in Osubi Community will enhance laws that will minimize crimes in the area, adding” I am very impressed with the establishment of the magistrates’ court in my Constituency, it is a welcome development and very good for all residents of Osubi Community and its environs, the entire Okpe Local Government Area too”
The Speaker however expressed gratitude to the state governor, Mr Ifeanyi Okowa and the Chief Judge, Justice Marshall Umukoro for making the establishment of the magistrates’court in the area possible, adding that” before now, Osubi Community and its environs have been under the Orerokpe, and residents of Osubi Community never had easy access to Justice rather than to travel to Orerokpe”
Oborevwore Sheriff said that the court would provide the advantage of preventing recourse to self help by aggrieved members of the public adding that the law frowns at self help and appealed that all persons that were aggrieved one way or the other should take advantage of the Judicial process to seek redress and not to have recourse to self help which is capable of causing breakdown of law and order
The Speaker Commended the state Governor Mr Ifeanyi Okowa for Providing enabling environment for Judicial arm of government to thrive in the state adding” I also want to appreciate a worthy sons and daughters of Osubi Community and many others in the state”
