Former Gombe State Commissioner for Youths Development, Hon. Faruk Yarma has said that, the former state governor, Senator Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo initiated and over 80% of Gombe Mega Motor Park before he left office.
He disclosed this while reacting to social media posts claiming that the project was executed by the present administration of Governor Inuwa Yahaya.
He however acknowledged that the project was completed by Governor Inuwa Yahaya after it was handed over to him by Dankwambo with over 80% of its completion.
He said, “For the record, His Excellency Senator Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo not only initiated but also laid the foundation of the Ultra Modern Mega Motor Park in Gombe.
“He successfully executed over 80% of the project, which, when fully operational, will have a significant economic impact on the state.
“These accomplishments include the creation of employment opportunities, the stimulation of commercial activities leading to wealth creation, and a reduction in levels of poverty and crime rates in the state.
“Similarly, the project will enhance the state’s level of internally generated revenue (IGR). His Excellency Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya successfully completed the remaining work on the site. These facts are undisputed and represent the truth of the matter”.
Commenting on the former Commissioner’s post on Facebook, Ibrahim Garba Wala popularly known as IG Wala stated,
“This is not Gombe State Airport. This is the new Gombe Mega Motor Park. Gombe is strategically at the centre of the 6 states in the North East.
“Inspired by Danjuma Goje, Initiated by Ibrahim Dankwambo, Executed and completed by Governor Inuwa Yahaya.
“So far, our Governors are focused on developing our state. Investors are welcome to Gombe”.
