Former governor of Gombe state Ibrahim Dankwambo has condemned the arrest and detention of Gombe PDP PRO Khalid Izala by the state government.
Dankwambo who made the condemnation on his Facebook page Wednesday said the detention is unconstitutional.
“I condemn the arrest and detention of Khalid Muazu Izala, the spokesperson for our great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Gombe LGA, Gombe state for criticizing the policies and programs of the current governor.
“His detention is unconstitutional.
“Freedom of speech is one of the building blocks of every democratic society”. He opined.
According to him, no Nigerian should be arrested or detained for exercising their constitutional rights.
“It is wrong and should be condemned by all and sundry”. He decried.
