A Shari’a Court in Kano on Monday ordered that a businessman, Ibrahim Muhammed who allegedly stole a ram to be remanded in a correctional centre.
Muhammed who lives in Fagge Quarters Kano, is charged with theft.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The Presiding Judge, Malam Ismai’l Muhammed-Ahmed, adjourned the matter until Jan.19 2023 for mention.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp Abdullahi Wada told the court that the complainant, Balaraba Lawan, who lives Fagge Quarters, Kano reported the matter at Fagge Police Station, Kano, on Dec.16.
Wada alleged that when the complainant searched for her ram, and it was seen with Muhammed (defendant)
“During investigation the defendant could not give satisfactory account of how it was found in his possession.
The offence, Wada said, contravened the provisions of Section 133 of the Kano State Shari’a Law.
