A Kano Sharia Court in Fagge on Thursday ordered that a 25-year old man, Khalifa Ahmed, who pleaded guilty to stealing four cartons of Indomie noodles be remanded in a correctional centre.
The defendant, who resides in Fagge, Kano, is charged with theft, to which he pleaded guilty.
The Judge, Ismai’l Muhammad-Ahmed, adjourned the matter until July 26 for summary trial.
Earlier, the Prosecution counsel, Mr Abdul Wada told the court that the defendant committed the offence on June 27 at Kabobo street in Fagge street, Kano.
He alleged that on the same date at 9 p.m., the accused trespassed into Masa’udu Musa’s shop and stole four cartons of indomie.
Wada said exhibits were found in Ahmed’s possession when arrested.
He noted that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 133 of the Kano State Sharia Law.
