Following series of innovations in the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital Barnawa Kaduna, the National Health Insurance Authority ( NHIA ) has conferred an award of excellence on the Medical Director Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital Barnawa Dr. Aishatu Armiya’u.
In a programme at the Kaduna State Ministry of Health, the National Health Insurance Authority ( NHIA) presented awards to individuals and organisations for their excellent performance towards achieving universal health coverage .
Director General, National Health Insurance Authority ( NHIA ) , Professor M.N Sambo who spoke through a representative said ” states across the Federation have not only cued into the vision of the Federal Government in bringing guaranteed wellness to doorstep of everyone, be it in rural or urban communities but the frontiers of the programme are expanding on daily basis due to the sheer commitment and unwavering dedication of certain individuals who have made it a self imposed duty on themselves to spread the good news to the people living and working around them ”
He further explained that the recognition of outstanding stakeholders cutting across healthcare providers, media outfits as well as individuals who have consistently and tirelessly work for the growing acceptance of the NHIA is meant to tell others still sitting on the fence to roll their sleeves and get involved in the campaign to attain universal health coverage for each and everyone.
Also speaking, the Kaduna State Coordinator of the NHIA , Aminu Tanimu said the theme should continue to serve as a reminder that nobody should be left behind in the collective action of making quality healthcare a tangible reality for all residents of the state.
He added that the awards presented to the Medical Director, Federal Neuro Psychiatric Hospital, Kaduna, Dr. Aishatu Yusha’u Armiya’u and other recipients symbolized a token of appreciation for the significant progress achieved in expanding healthcare access as a shared aspiration and inalienable right of all citizens.
Responding on behalf of the awardees, the Medical Director, Federal Neuro Psychiatric Hospital, Kaduna, Dr Aishatu Yusha’u Armiya’u opined that the “only reward for hard work is more hard work” just as she urged the recipients not to relent in their efforts but see the recognition as a call to challenge on the extensive work that still lies ahead .
