A former staunch Buharist, Dr Umar Ardo, has expressed regret at the role he played in bringing Muhammadu Buhari to power, writing off the President as a failure.
In a chat with the Hausa Service of Voice Of America (VOA), Dr. Ardo described it as “shameful and embarrassing” that after more than seven years in office, President Muhammadu Buhari has no single tangible and verifiable achievement to show.
Dr Ardo, who featured on the programme among governorship candidates of other political parties, said the only achievement recorded by president Buhari is marrying off his children to multimillionaires.
“As far as I am concerned, Buhari has achieved nothing,” the Adamawa SDP governorship candidate maintained,” adding, “His only achievement is marrying his female children to multimillionaire husbands, and his son to a multimillionaire princess. But for Nigeria, has done nothing.”
Ardo further said he regrets playing a part in bringing the present administration to power, saying he did so with good faith.
He said, “To start with, I apologise to God Almighty and to Nigerians for supporting Buhari. I thank God that I didn’t do it with evil mind. Now I regret it.”
