Brotherhood of the Cross and Star Kicks Off Sports Festival to Mark Founder’s Birthday

As part of the humanitarian activities marking the 2024 Celebration of the Divine Birthday of the spiritual leader of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, the organization has concluded plans to sponsor a Sports Festival in Calabar, Cross River State.
The BCS Sports Festival slated from Wednesday 13th – Friday 14th November, 2024 at the U. J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar, Cross River State, would feature football competition among Secondary Schools, table tennis, among other athletics in the State.
Chairman of the BCS Sport Festival, Patriarch Obioma George, who made this known while addressing Sports Journalists during the kick-off of the sports festival in Calabar, Wednesday, explained that, “the tournament is another medium to ascertain stars that will be further trained professionally and technically.”
George also said the sports event would help to empower young minds who have found delights and pleasure in sport activities as well as encourage the spirit of oneness and unity which football represents.
Also speaking at the Secretary of the Sports Festival, Ogarekpe Ekpezu, disclosed that the sport event would involve several secondary schools in the state.
Ekezu stated that winners would not only smile home with mouthwatering prizes but budding stars would be identified.
Head of BCS Events Management, Ogar Osim, said, “It is a well-known fact that the leader of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu is the Pillar of sports. Amongst other kind gestures, he is a promoter of sports and good fortune and His contributions to developing sports talents in the State and beyond cannot be overstated.”
Osim explained that, the Divine Birthday celebration of His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu billed for 20th November, 2024 is expected to bring together people from different parts of the world to Calabar for a one week spiritual and humanitarian service.
