Members of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) are currently protesting the non-implementation of financial autonomy for state assemblies, at the main entrance of the National Assembly, Abuja.
The protesters, who were carrying placards with various inscriptions, threatened to shut down both chambers in the nation’s capital and all Houses of Assembly in the 36 States of the federation in the next six days if the Senate and House of Representatives fail to do the needful.
Addressing journalists during the protest, which prevented vehicular movement into the complex, PASAN President, Mohammed Usman, said the association was still wondering why the implementation had not been done two years after the law was passed.
He accused the governors of preventing the implementation of the law.
