Gale of defection has continued to hit the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State as it’s top officials and other members are defecting to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in droves.
In the latest development, the Zonal Vice Chairman from Gombe Central, Engr. Musa Gwani (Bimason) and Assistant State Treasurer of the Party, Muhammad Yusuf Pindiga (Malam Pindiga) have dumped the PDP and joined the NNPP.
Daylight Reporters has obtained a short audio clips in which the duo announced their formal defection from the PDP to NNPP which is now fast becoming the leading opposition party in the state.
The PDP has losed some of its key members in the state to the NNPP in recent times.
Prominent among the defectors were the Northeast Zonal ex-officio and immediate past women leader in the state, Mole Istifanus, assistant state auditor general, Sama’ila Baba among others.
Thousands of PDP members have also joined the party at various times and we’re received by the Gombe State Governorship Candidate in the forthcoming 2023 general elections, Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki.
Just two days ago, Mailantarki received received officials and thousand of members of Sardauna Dawo-Dawo, a political support group loyal to the Gombe renowned politician and philanthropist, Jamil Isyaka Gwamna into the party.
The group defected to the party after the exit of Gwamna from the PDP to the ruling APC and changed its name to Mailantarki Movement and vowed to deploy it’s support to his candidature and success in the elections.
