An Airforce officer, Shuaibu Umar Bashir who was kidnapped by armed bandits along Birnin Gwari highway was released by his captors.
He was released early Thursday after efforts by family members and other well-meaning individuals who assisted in the payment of ransom and negotiations for him to be release.
Confirming his release to Daylight Reporters, an elder brother to the victim, said Shuaibu was released after his family paid undisclosed ransom twice to the bandits before they finally released him.
It would be recalled that ACM Bashir was abducted on Sunday, 20th August 2023 along Birnin Gwari road on his way back to his duty post in Niger state.
